Professional Master of IR
The Professional MIR program (PMIR) will give you the foundation you need to provide your organization with thoughtful, informed, decisive leadership in labour relations and human resources management. The PMIR leads to the same degree as the full-time MIR program. As a part-time program, the PMIR is delivered in a format that fits into your busy personal and professional life.
Program of Study
This part-time graduate program is for experienced professionals working in labour relations or human resources management who wish to significantly enhance and upgrade their academic qualifications. It offers a rich and rewarding learning experience, with faculty who are leading scholars and prominent policy advisors, among accomplished and ambitious student colleagues who are committed to making a significant difference in their workplace and more broadly for the benefit of their organizations.
Stressing the application of knowledge and evidence-based analysis to employment relations, the PMIR curriculum consists of core courses, electives and independent study. The core courses delve into the required body of knowledge and skills to provide a thorough grounding in industrial relations and human resource theory and practice, and labour law. Opportunities for specialization and to pursue personal interests are provided through elective courses.
